Welcome to South West Soccer Association & Country Womens Soccer Association for 2008
Soccer has been played in the South West since before the 1900’s and various competitions have been formed and played since those early years. The current South West Soccer Association was formed in 1971 with the Country Womens Soccer Association branching out in 1977, both Associations proudly carry on the traditions of those sporting pioneers in the world game.
The long history of soccer, or world football, continues in the South West bringing new developments and ever increasing challenges to the clubs and to the sports administrators.

The current boom in soccer has seen a great increase in the number of players in the South West and that in turn has seen several new clubs formed in recent times. The Associations now boast 14 Senior Clubs spread through 7 League Competitions split into 2 Divisions for 2008.
This season has seen a restructuring of the league format with the competition being split into two with larger clubs hosting both Mens & Womens teams playing in Premier League Divisions and the smaller clubs with a Mens and Womens team each competing in a second division. It is anticipated that a number of the second division clubs will step up to the Premier League ranks in 2009.
As the paperwork continues to grow the SWSA has responded with the appointment of an Administrator Manager to ensure that things run smoothly. Some catching up has been required and this is on track with this new website being part of the results.
This site is intended to provide you with current soccer news and information and is continuing its development. Your comments and suggestions would be most welcome and can be sent to us under our contact details.
